One of the{{many things}}I love to collect is Vintage Photos. I've picked them up at Estate Sales, Antique Shops & Flea Markets for years. Even though I had no idea what I was going to do with them I still couldn't pass them up. My favorite are hand painted/tinted photos.
I've seen tutorials about printing on fabric but wasn't sure if it was simple enough to do with what I had on hand{or if my printer would work- because it's not fancy at all}.
It turned out pretty good except not all the colors came through, I'm guessing because I was low on ink.
I thought it would be perfect for a pillow cover....
How crazy is it that a photo taken in 1937 at a 4 H Picnic is preserved on a Pillow that now sits on my bed.Very cool!!

The BEST Swap EVER!!!
When I was asked if I was interested in a trade for something in my Vintage Shop{for a Boopsie Daisy Doll}, I was thinking..."Seriously, are you kidding me?" YES!! She asked what kind of doll I'd like, I said: I love anything cute, pastel{pinks, blues} pretty much your whole Shop rolled up in a ball!! And this is what she came up with♥
AND not only is she the cutest thing I've ever seen but she smells good enough to eat!!! I'm not sure I feel right about calling it a swap~ it's like I sent a bag of rocks & I received a bag filled with gold!
![]()
I mentioned last year in this post how I was lucky enough to stumble onto two of her dolls.
Completely handmade~ that is amazing! To top it off, Missy is probably the most sweet, bubbly, positive, enjoyable human being I've ever come across~ it's like she's made up of Rainbows, Sunshine & everything in your favorite Candy Shop :)

I thought my little shelf made me smile before, but now I'm constantly grinning like a mental patient! If your not familiar with Missy Munday's{BoopsieDaisy}Shop you can check it out here. And if you want to see the most incredible collection of dolls ever then go here .

Collections, Projects & {yay}it's Summertime!!
Finally a cuckoo clock for that open spot...

So, before I end up with more than I need{or have places to hang}I just might be able to give it a rest now...

or so I thought until I spotted this unbelievely cute clock on Etsy....Holy Cow, I've been fighting with myself for days on whether or not to push the Add to cart button :/
This is a project I've been forced into having to complete. I bought this beautiful vintage Eiderdown that arrived in excellent condition~ something you don't always expect to find since most are 70+ years old. So when I heard my daughter yelling "No Bear"! "Oh my gosh....MOM"!! I was pretty sure whatever it was, it wasn't going to be good.
I found my puppy sitting on top of it ripping it apart! He looked something like this, but with a face full of feathers almost saying "Huh....what"?? He's lucky I love him.
It's kinda hard to stay mad at him, he's really funny and has some pretty interesting quirks. This is his favorite way to sleep, we call it dead bug or junk to the sky pose~ it's so not an attractive look, but always makes me laugh when I see him doing it :)
I much more prefer his flat body Superman sleeping position.

Found, Free and Flea...
I just pre-ordered this Book. It's released August 9th 2011, I can't wait to get a hold of it!!

Tereasa Surratt writes about how her husband convinced her that they should buy a derelict summer camp in Wisconsin, they had no idea the treasure trove they’d inherit with the property. While renovating the decrepit cabins at Camp Wandawega, they kept stumbling upon curious objects, some dating back ninety years or more: a Boy Scout patch, an old sled, a pristine set of Fiesta Ware, dozens of midcentury aprons, an untouched box of board games in their original packaging.
She knew the power that one mundane object has when grouped with its siblings. So rather than discard everything, she set out on a five-year expedition to turn the more than 150 found items into full-fledged collections.

Vintage Portrait Collection
I have a thing about collecting portraits of other peoples families. This is my latest find. I wish I had the reaction on video of my six year old when she first spotted these almost life size children{it actually looks like they're sitting on the wall}it was too funny!
There was something about each one of these that made me feel the need to take them home.
Two of my favorites because they look so much like my Grandparents♥
If I end up becoming a hoarder of anything, it will definitely be of Portraits.

Roses
I still can't believe I'm responsible for these.
When I planted this rose bush four years ago I really didn't expect too much from it. I've never been good with plants or planting anything, so I'm always thrilled when I see a blooming rose{let alone a couple dozen}.
When I see a house with overflowing rose bushes I always wonder if they actually cut them and have them throughout their home...because I would, and do.

1. Rose Cottage Fence, 2. Endless summer, 3. Hobnail, 4. Rose Cottage ...
Just a few of my favorite vintage vases, filled and ready to place around the house♥

Vintage Buttons
Although I have a pretty big collection of vintage buttons, I can never have too many. I use mine to make Magnets for Memo Boards & Chalkboards that I sell in my Shop. The bigger the button, the better....
I just picked these up last weekend~ in some of my favorite shades of pink & blue!

Did you know there was a National Button Society? I didn't. You can find tons of info. and links on everything vintage button related. I also love this website Button, Button.. where you can view and buy vintage and antique buttons.
{from Rachel Ashwell's book: Shabby Chic}She says she collects vintage buttons to add to the backs of pillows to give them additional visual interest and detail.

Bluebirds....
A friend just sent me possibly the cutest vintage planter ever!
This might become my new collecting addiction.
Unfortunately, I don't think I'd be alone in the pursuit of these cute little birds, making them hard to get a hold of.

Fun Collections
Snowdomes {or snow globes, that's what I've always called them} My daughter has been collecting them for a couple years now. Last week I found four really neat vintage domes to add to her collection.

I found a great article with a little history behind Snowdomes. And if you want to see a true Snowdome collector, check out Andy Zito's Collection~ WOW, it's amazing!!
Flickr finds:

1. New York in Oxford, 2. MON 16 JUN. Lucky Day., 3. ( west ) germany snow globe, 4. Shepherd of the Hills
I loved this twist on the Snowdome, you can read more about it over at KraftyKatina's Blog.

1. Habijar #1: Amanitas and Snail
We're taking a road trip later this month, my favorite part is stopping at little quirky shops along the way. I'm sure we'll pick up a Snowdome or two♥

Vintage Hankies ♥
How cute is this Tote? I just saw it this morning, made by Bethsbagz. I bought a tote from her years ago, it's almost as cute as this{it was a Valentines theme} she does great work!!

So cute! Great Ideas:

1} Child's handkerchief, by: myredboots
2} Hanky onsie, by: Vintagelucys
3} Framed hanky, by: fineanddandy
4} Hankie Dress, by: josiekatstrunk
As usual there's endless ideas, collections, inspirations to see on Flickr:

1. Hanky Wall art, 2. Greens, 3. vintage hankies, 4. Vintage Hankies Valance, 5. Mom's Hankies 003, 6. Vintage Hanky Pillows!
Why would anyone make something so cute to blow your nose in??? I can't imagine using any of these for their original intended purpose.

The Button Jack Pot!!
I guess a true Jack Pot would be more like a Truck Load of vintage buttons, but these sure felt like the best find I've come across lately.
The colors, designs & shapes...I'm in love with these sweet old buttons! They will eventually become magnets for my Inspiration Boards and Chalkboards.
I really have had the worst luck lately at finding vintage frames. But, along with the buttons and these two amazingly beautiful red velvet pillows, I found two frames.
The funny thing about the pillows is that I bought them knowing they would match nothing in my house. But, they were in such perfect condition(most likely from the 60's) I thought "Someone in Iowa or Wisconsin has been looking for these exact pillows and would love them", so they'll be going into my Vintage Shop.
