For as long as I've been Flea Marketing/Thrifting a couple of things I tend to collect are vintage pictures and frames. At first it was mainly floral prints, then cottages(or any old style home)landscapes and portraits. I can't tell you how many pictures/paintings I have of people I don't know. Even though I've run out of room on my walls~ old habits are hard to break.
I picked up these little vintage frames at my last flea market trip. I knew they would be even more amazing painted.
Since I've been under the weather and haven't been able to shake whatever it is that I have(going on almost three weeks now)my crafting/projects have been limited. I managed to complete these frames for my Shop.My mind wants to get up and go....but my body doesn't! Nothings worse than not feeling like yourself or having the energy to do the things you need to do. My dishes and laundry aren't going to do themselves~ my kids will use a ladle and a tea cup for their cereal rather than wash a spoon & bowl!!
Ugh...I'm hoping tomorrow is a better day :)

Yes!!!!
To answer my own question in my last post, I absolutely was too sick to be out flea marketing!! But so glad I did. First, this is what I had to leave when the only thing on my mind was crawling back into bed:
seemed a little unfair.
I quickly realized just how badly I was feeling when I parked my usual mile away(fighting for a parking space in the parking lot stresses me out, so I always park on the street). Under normal circumstances it's a great idea because I get some exercise & don't have drive in circles waiting for someone to leave~ not such a good idea when your sick. On my way back to the car I seriously contemplated laying down for a quick nap.
Today I went with the goal of finding a certain size & style frame(usually the kiss of death...because rarely do you find what you need when you need it). But today was my lucky day, not only did I find the exact frame but some other things I needed too. I might be sharing a few of them in my Vintage Home shop.
Now I'm off to Google walking pneumonia.

Too sick to shop??
1. You got the blue? I've got the flu
Well, I'm almost too sick but I really need to find a frame for a custom order....so sick or not I'm heading to the flea market. I missed last weekends usual trip because of the rain, which kind of worked out because I had just gotten sick. Today is one of those days where you just want to stay in bed, watch movies or do some Blog surfing! So while I should have been getting ready I came across two Blogs that I'll have to add to my list of favorites! They're the kind that have you saying out loud "ohhh" "ahhh, how cute" So I thought I'd share them with those of you who love a good visual Blog!

And they both have Etsy shops too! Dutchsisters & Shop66

Be careful what you wish for...
I was whining a couple weeks ago about the lack of rain, and how it seems we just skip over winter here in Southern California. Well now it won't stop raining~ steady, sheets of rain. I don't think I've ever seen this much rain here! I feel like I'm in Seattle, without all the really cool surroundings. I'm ready to go back to the sunshine and warm days! I'm never prepared for the rain since we usually have so little, we have one umbrella that I can never find when we need it. People are so funny here, I can guarantee I'll see someone in flip flops if it stops raining even for a few seconds. The other day when I was picking my daughter up from school there was a woman in flip flops....in the rain! I thought for sure she was going to slip and fall, which would have kind of been funny except she was carrying a cute little dog.

Love using patterns???
Well, I don't(I think I mentioned it about 99 posts ago when I first started my Blog)! But this book is wonderful! It's 'Home Sewn' by Kaari Meng(you can go here if you'd like to learn more about her or the book). It comes with patterns, perfect for any one who loves to sew~ for the beginner, experienced & advanced. I think I've had it for about a year, I've skimmed through it drooling over the inspirational photo's. Other than looking through it, it's just sitting looking pretty on my shelf. So I thought there might be someone out there who could put this book to good use.
For anyone who's interested just leave a comment and I'll pick a random name Monday....and let you all know where to Book will be going that evening!

Retro Kitchens
Are these amazing or what?? I love browsing through flickr, you find such inspirational spaces. I could spend hours baking in any one of these Kitschy Kitchens.
*~* Yikes, sorry I forgot to copy & paste the flickr links *~*
If or when my fridge dies, I would love this jadite green retro refrigerator
Or, this one in Pink.
Did you know that you can buy a retro style dishwasher? How cute is that?
My Dad always said I should have been born a Princess(I guess because as a kid I liked nice things~ I think he was telling me I should have been born into a rich family) Oh boy, he wasn't kidding! Unless I hit the Lottery, I think looking at these is as close as I'm going to get! A girl can dream :)

Craft Rooms, Studio's.....
and a couple of my favorite pastel spaces. I spent most of my weekend getting my daughter ready for Camp. So that meant no Thrifting, Flea Marketing or Crafting! But in between packing we watched a couple Movies, did some last minute shopping and I found some time to flip through my stash of favorite Magazines. I just wanted to share a few of my favorite inspiring & eye catching articles.
